New Age Demanded è una riflessione malinconica sul tempo, oltre che un saggio visivo sulla funzione dell’arte. Ispirato da alcuni versi tratti dal poema
di Ezra Pound Hugh Selwyn Mauberly, il progetto consiste in una serie di immagini che fondono passato e presente, archeologia e fantascienza, manualità e tecnologia, cultura alta e bassa. I busti senza volto, scolpiti al computer e poi rivestiti di texture prese a prestito dalla storia dell’arte recente, simboleggiano il sogno perseguito da ogni artista: racchiudere in una sola immagine il sentire di un’intera epoca, il ritratto del tempo che viviamo.

New Age Demanded is a melancholic reflection on time, as well as a visual tract on the function of art. Inspired by some verses taken from the poem by Ezra Pound, Hugh Selwyn Mauberley, the project consists of a series of images which fuse past and present, archaeology and science fiction, manual skills and technology, high and low culture. The busts without a face, sculpted on the computer and then dressed in a texture borrowed from works of the recent history of art, symbolise the dream pursued by every artist to enclose within a single image the feeling of an entire age, the portrait of our times.
