“In Moon Score (1975-1979), Hitoshi Nomura photographed the moon on film marked with five lines (like staff paper). The project was supposedly inspired by Nomura spotting the moon moving behind telephone wires. In an early exhibition of the piece, visitors began to hum the “score”, and later exhibitions featured a CD with a string quartet or chorus performing the score. Later Nomura made a similar series called ‘birds’ photographing just birds.” You can listen to the music here.

Object Stories

Rune Guneriussen shot some ironic and poetic photos of domestic objects in natural environments…

“The work on objects such as tables, lamps and chairs started in 2005, and has been photographed on location all over Norway. The objects are implemented mainly in scenes cast in appropriate landscapes, and here they are subject to a certain carachter carefully laying out a story. It is an approach to the balance between nature and culture, but also a multiple reading of stories.”

Rurality 2.0

I’m in Bisaccia (Avellino, Italy) for Interferenze, a great new media art festival that this year takes place in an ancient castle. The location is breathtaking and the program looks amazing also. I curated the Software Art and the Video sections. Here’s some links to the works:

Crisalidi e processi
